WestWallet is a multi-currency custodial crypto wallet combined with a merchant payment gateway and processing API. Operated by EU-based WestGroup Inc, it supports 26 cryptocurrencies and provides merchants with hosted invoices, IPN webhooks, address generation, and bulk withdrawals — all under a 0.25% API fee that places it among the cheapest hosted crypto gateways on the market. The platform processes tens of thousands of transactions per day and is positioned as a low-friction alternative to larger incumbents like BitPay or Coinbase Commerce.
How WestWallet Works
WestWallet exposes a REST API that lets merchants accept crypto payments in three steps:
- Create an invoice via
POST /address/create_invoice, specifying the allowed currencies, the amount, anipn_urlfor Instant Payment Notification, and optional success/redirect URLs. If more than one currency is listed, the amount is denominated in USD; for a single currency,amount_in_usd: truecan be used to lock the amount in fiat terms. - Generate a deposit address for the chosen currency (or receive the hosted invoice URL), and pass it to the customer.
- Receive the IPN callback at the merchant’s
ipn_urlonce the on-chain payment reaches the required confirmations. The merchant can then mark the order as paid.
For platforms with recurring payout needs, WestWallet also offers bulk send (one request, multiple destinations) on currencies that support it (BTC, BCH, BTG, BSV, ADA, DASH, DOGE, LTC, XMR, ZEC) with volume-based fee discounts.
Key Features
- 0.25% API fee — one of the lowest fees among hosted crypto payment gateways, with no fee on deposits or on transfers between WestWallet users.
- 26 supported cryptocurrencies including BTC, ETH, LTC, BCH, DASH, ZEC, BNB, XRP, XLM, DOGE, TRX, XMR, USDT, USDC, LINK, ADA, and others.
- Hosted invoices with IPN webhooks — create a payment page via the API, receive an Instant Payment Notification when funds settle.
- Bulk withdrawals (mass payouts) — a single API call dispatches multiple transactions with fee discounts; useful for payroll, affiliate payouts, and exchange settlements.
- Instant settlement between WestWallet users — wallet-to-wallet transfers on the platform credit without waiting for network confirmations.
- Multi-currency wallet built in — merchants can hold balances across all 26 supported assets inside the same dashboard that receives payments.
- Instant exchange — convert incoming balances automatically into the currency the merchant wants to hold, with confirmed rates before each exchange.
- E-commerce plugins — ready-made integrations for Shopify, Magento, and WooCommerce, plus a documented REST API and a JavaScript SDK (
westwallet-js-api) for custom integrations. - Telegram bot integration — the wallet can be operated from Telegram, which is popular for merchant and partner workflows.
Fee Structure
WestWallet’s fee model is straightforward and competitive:
- API withdrawal fee: 0.25% per transaction for commercial users sending funds via the API.
- Network receive fees: vary by currency (e.g., 0 for BTC, 3 USDT for USDT ERC-20 deposits, 1.5 USDT for USDT TRC-20 withdrawals).
- WestWallet Pro: a monthly subscription that drops the API fee to roughly 0.4% on outbound sends while reducing network confirmation requirements and providing dedicated commercial terms for high-volume users.
- Business API rates: from 0.15% for eligible high-volume partners, with priority support.
- Transfers between WestWallet users: free, with no network confirmation required.
- No fee for receiving payments to a WestWallet address.
For a merchant processing, say, $100,000 in monthly crypto volume, the 0.25% API fee amounts to roughly $250/month — well below the typical 1–2% charged by BitPay, Coinbase Commerce, or CoinGate.
Supported Cryptocurrencies
WestWallet supports 26 cryptocurrencies across multiple blockchains:
- Bitcoin family: BTC, BCH, BSV, BTG
- Smart contract platforms: ETH, ETC, BNB, ADA, EOS, Tezos
- Privacy and payments: XMR, ZEC, DASH, XLM, XRP, DOGE, LTC
- Stablecoins: USDT (TRC-20, ERC-20, BEP-20, SOL, TON), USDC (ERC-20, BEP-20), TUSD
- DeFi / utility: LINK, LEO, MKR, NOT, SHIB (BEP-20)
For merchants, the practical payment set covers the most-used networks for e-commerce: BTC, ETH, USDT (multi-chain), USDC, LTC, BCH, DOGE, and XRP.
Best For
WestWallet is a strong fit for merchants and businesses that want:
- A low transaction-fee hosted gateway without fiat off-ramp requirements.
- Crypto-to-crypto settlement with multi-currency wallet balance management on the same dashboard.
- Mass-payout or treasury automation via a clean REST API.
- E-commerce integration via Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce without committing to a higher-fee processor.
- Operability from Telegram or web, with multi-user access on business accounts.
Important Considerations
- Crypto-only settlement: WestWallet settles in cryptocurrency. There is no built-in fiat off-ramp to a bank account; merchants who need automatic fiat conversion should pair WestWallet with a separate fiat on-ramp or use a processor like BitPay or Coinbase Commerce.
- Custodial wallet: Funds accepted through the API are held inside the WestWallet wallet. Merchants comfortable with self-custody will need a different architecture.
- Regional restrictions: Service availability and specific coin support vary by jurisdiction; KYC is required for higher limits and commercial accounts.
- Smaller brand recognition: Compared with BitPay or Coinbase Commerce, WestWallet is a more niche processor — counterparty risk and ecosystem maturity should be weighed against the lower fee.
- API feature focus: The product is API-and-invoice-first; there is no hosted point-of-sale app or donation button builder out of the box.
